New year means new ideas!

I always like the New year, it is like we are given a new slate to work with a new design board,or for some a new chance. For me life is a celebration, and we should enjoy the journey. Many people find making  parties or entertaining to be a daunting task. I can't tell you how many times I have worked behind my counter at our store and over heard mothers who look at their child's birthday event more as a chore then as a fun pleasure. I am saddened by this perception. I would like to offer tips and ideas on my new blog to make these milestone events easy, fun, and memorable. These events can also be prepared with the smallest budgets all the way to the largest budgets. I myself am a huge coupon girl. I like my bargains,it makes me happy and I enjoy teaching others how to do it. I prepare things that look costly but are pennies, but shhhh that's our secret.
First I would like to tell you about myself. My name is Roberta Araujo, I am a wife, mother of 2,and owner of amazing parties. I started doing parties about 22 years ago. I prepared my own wedding including the decor, invitations, favors, venue, and shopped for my dress in an outlet. I had only one birthday party as a child and have always felt my love for parties probably came from my yearning as a child. My mom always felt it was to much work and so therefore there were no parties for me. I didn't want my children to feel the way I did and would make sure that all their parties were parties of their dreams. Sometimes I admit, I did over do their parties, but it made both of us happy. I certainly got to relive my childhood in the eyes of my children, and happiness for me is looking back at all the memories. Life is about memories, its what made Kodak a huge company. We document our memories in photos, blogs, computers, letters and we enjoy them alone or even with our friends. That is what I do for a living, I make memories, I help people with those moments they will share together forever, may it be a remembrance over a dinner table meal shared with family, a glimpse of a photo of a celebration of the past, or even a shared moment of the present. I am proud that this is what I have devoted my life and work. For all those that know me personally, I get energy and happiness from making others happy. I try every day to do something that impacts someones life. That is the legacy I wish to leave, and share with others.
